Many people are concerned with the abuse of government credit cards by federal employees, as this money is taxpayers money. I am concerned with employees of the Federal Trade Commission or FTC, because I have seen abuses of power in this agency and am convinced that fraud and abuse with government credit cards during travel and in Washington, DC is going on. It is amazing that the media and the legislatures have attacked the Department of Defense for misuse of credit cards when the reality of the situation is that this abuse goes on still today and every government agency including the Department of Justice. It is amazing the amount of government fraud and use of government credit cards.
Simply instituting controls and checks and balances on government credit cards does not alleviate the fraud. But that’s not all; apparently other USDA workers have used government credit cards to buy a car and another one to go to an Ozzy Osbourne Concert onto the taxpayer’s dime. We need to put any government worker from any agency in a jail if they violate the trust of the American people and fraudulently use government credit cards for personal use such as car washes, cruise vacations and drinking at the local watering hole.
Many people deny that the government abuses their credit cards and yet I have so much proof, that I feel perhaps that the general public either does not care or that they do not understand the seriousness of this issue.
Let us take a look at the credit card abuse with taxpayer’s monies and government issued credit cards for government employee expenses. Some have charged that the Government credit card abuse was widespread in the military and yet it was not widespread. Well, the answer is simple there is widespread government credit card fraud and there have been many government reports and audits that show this from agencies like the OMB, OAI and GAO. Some people have been quite concerned with the government credit card use of military personnel. When USDA government employees buy Ozzy Osbourne Concert tickets with a government credit card; well, I have a problem with that too. Before retirement I was involved in the car wash industry and in our industry we had problems with employees with government credit cards. Those government credit cards are only for official business.
You can imagine the difficult job managing Government credit cards for Government employees. Actually it looks as if it has on paper audits but in reality those fine folks in government still abuse their government credit cards, which is taxpayers money.
The Government Credit Card Abuse Prevention Act of 2006′ has so far not been able to cure the fine folks in government from cheating us and stealing taxpayers’ money. How can we trust the USDA when their employees are stealing from the taxpayer? How can we trust anyone in government when these things go on? I believe the taxpayers are owed an explanation and they have been waiting for it for nearly a decade. I wish someone would answer my question because I believe trust in your government is a very important thing for the ongoing vitality of our nation.
